Hello Alumni Family!
Spring is in full swing and there are many things happening at the University of Georgia. Since the last quarterly newsletter in January, we have been busy engaging in awesome events! The annual Mary Frances Early and Holmes-Hunter Lectures took place this past February in Athens, we welcomed newly admitted students to the Bulldog family with cards and receptions, Dawg Day of Giving was a huge success, we honored Mr. Rick Dunn and Dr. Xernona Thomas as our outstanding Footsteps Award honorees, and we are all STILL waking up as back-to-back National Champions!
THANK YOU to everyone who made a gift during Dawg Day of Giving on March 30. While we are still waiting on final numbers to come in, we know that $5,628,561 was raised thanks to over 11,000 gifts from alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends like you. Specifically, over $25,000 was given to the Black Alumni Scholarship Fund in support of our current and future scholars! Thank you all for helping us break down financial barriers to education and keep the doors open for student success.
I encourage everyone to finish the spring Bulldog strong! Continue to support fellow graduates and current students by showing up, mentoring, supporting businesses, sharing information and living the mantra of being ‘the family we choose.’
Go Dawgs!
