2,526/3,000 vouchers sold
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS | FLORIDA LICENSE PLATE VOUCHER CAMPAIGN
When 3,000 vouchers are sold, what happens?
It will take 3-4 months for the plates to be printed. The Florida Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) will notify voucher holders when the plates have shipped to their local tax collector’s office so the purchase can be completed there. The UGA Alumni Association is not responsible for the dissemination of license plates.
When 3,000 vouchers are not sold, what happens?
If this campaign is not successful, you may request a refund for your $33 from the Florida Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles (the $.86 processing fee will not be refunded) or your $33 can be applied to another specialty plate in Florida. Although the UGA Alumni Association is collecting your fees, it will not be responsible for providing refunds as the money will have been transferred to the state of Florida.
How much does a voucher cost?
To purchase a voucher through the UGA Alumni Association, it costs $33.86. This includes the tag fee and a small processing fee (there is no donation included). It is $33 if you purchase it in person through your local county tag office.
Can I secure a UGA license plate for my motorcycle or RV? Can my handicap tag have the UGA design?
This design is not available for handicap, motorcycle, or RV license plates.
What if I move before the campaign concludes?
If you move prior to the conclusion of this campaign, please contact the Florida Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) for more information.
Is it OK to purchase my voucher through a third-party seller?
We strongly discourage you from securing your voucher through a third-party entity. News stories have emerged regarding questionable financial practices associated with some of these companies.
Where else can I purchase a voucher for a UGA license plate?
You can purchase a voucher online through the UGA Alumni Association or in person at a county tag office in Florida. We do not recommend purchasing a tag through a third-party seller.
I have a question about this campaign. Who do I contact?
For questions about Florida’s voucher processes, please contact your local tax collector’s office or the Florida Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV). For questions relating to UGA’s role in this campaign, please email email@example.com.
