Sanford Water

Sealed Water Allowed in Sanford Stadium

The UGA Athletic Association announced a new policy that will allow fans to bring one 20-ounce (or smaller) unopened plastic water bottle through the gates into Sanford Stadium. Filtered water stations throughout the stadium can be used to refill those water bottles. No sports bottles or thermal-type containers will be allowed.

Inaugural Homecoming 5K

Join in UGA’s Homecoming 5K, a brand new event this year. $10 registration fee for students; $20 for non-students – includes a 5K T-shirt, breakfast, timing services, and stretching class.

2019 Homecoming Parade

On Friday, October 11, the Homecoming Parade will wind through downtown Athens beginning at 6 PM. Led by UGA President Jere W. Morehead (JD ’80), Army and Air Force ROTC members, and the Redcoat Band, the parade will include floats, displays, spirit squads and appearances by university and Athens dignitaries. UGA Black Alumni Homecoming Tailgate

Gear up for game day with fellow Bulldogs at the annual Black Alumni Homecoming Tailgate. We hope to see you on Myers Quad, 3 hours prior to kickoff, for our version of a family reunion – full of fellowship with former classmates, music, dancing and Georgia spirit.

We’re excited to offer multiple registration options that include meals, shirts and limited game tickets. Bring your tailgate chairs (optional) and game day gear back to Athens before the Dawgs Attack the Day!

Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with legendary UGA football player Herschel Walker through a moderated question-and-answer session. Tickets are free for activity-fee-paid students on the UGA Athens campus. General admission tickets will be sold for $5 beginning on Oct. 14, if available.

Red & Black-Alligator Rivalry Challenge

During October, the student news organizations at UGA and the Univ. of Florida are competing to raise funds while also collaborating on a special Rivalry edition. The Independent Florida Alligator and The Red & Black have covered the rivalry between our schools for more than a century. We share a history of excellence and competition. We each have a legacy of journalism excellence and an alumni roster of industry stars. Even a gift of $25 helps cover expenses for a reporter on the road – and will earn you a copy of the special Rivalry edition!
