The President’s Medal
The President’s Medal recognizes extraordinary contributions by individuals who are not current UGA employees and who have supported students and academic programs, advanced research and inspired community leaders to enhance the quality of life of citizens in Georgia. Medals are typically presented to recipients during the annual Founders Day Luncheon in January. Scroll below to view previous medal recipients.

2025 President’s Medal Recipients: Hon. Steve C. Jones (BBA ’78, JD ’87) and Dr. Susette M. Talarico
In Jan. 2025, UGA will bestow President’s Medals on the Honorable Steve C. Jones, United States District Judge-Northern District of Georgia, and the late Dr. Susette M. Talarico, Albert Berry Saye Professor of American Government and Constitutional Law Emerita and Director Emerita of the Criminal Justice Studies Program.
2025 Founders Day Student Celebration
Join the Student Alumni Council in Tate Plaza on Monday, January 27, 2025 to celebrate UGA’s 240th birthday! Founders Day celebrations will include T-shirt giveaways, photos with Hairy Dawg and activities with schools and colleges from around campus. Be sure to stop by from 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. to celebrate UGA’s academic excellence and the incredible campus we call home.
