All are invited to join UGA Black Alumni as it celebrates the launch of The 1961 Club with a twist – networking with fellow alumni and students! As we recognize the 57th anniversary of desegregation at UGA, we acknowledge that we stand on the shoulders of the giants who made it all possible. It is up to us to ensure the next generation of Bulldogs have the same opportunities for success. With support from the Office of Institutional Diversity, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with UGA students and help them build their network (and net worth!).
In addition to networking, there will also be remarks and a special presentation regarding the launch of The 1961 Club. What’s the 1961 Club, you ask? It’s a dedicated group of donors, named for the year of integration at Georgia, who share a passion for ensuring African American student success. This giving society supports the endowed Black Alumni Scholarship Fund, and aims to remove barriers to higher education, keeping the doors open for African American students to attain a quality education.
The launch event is free to attend. Register below and encourage your friends to attend!
