San Francisco Dawgs, are you ready to participate in a special opportunity with fellow alumni and a group of ESP (extra special people)?
The San Francisco chapter will be hosting a pep rally to welcome a group of young adults with disabilities from Athens who are employed as “Joyristas” with Java Joy. Java Joy is a coffee service and mobile coffee cart that employs young adults with disabilities. For most of these young adults, this will be their first time away from their home in Athens and we want them to feel welcomed and supported by their Bulldog community.
These individuals with disabilities serve coffee, hugs, and an experience of unmatched joy throughout the community. In addition to attending the pep rally, you can experience Java Joy spreading cheer and serving coffee on Monday, December 9 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Transamerica Pyramid.
It is our goal to encourage alumni to support this terrific Athens based company while they’re visiting San Francisco! These young people know what it means to be part of the Bulldog Nation, and seeing UGA alumni welcoming them so far from home would provide just the right start to a special week.
