Being a Bulldog means giving back and this spring UGA alumni chapters across the country will come together for a “Dawg Day of Service” in their local communities.
Join fellow San Diego alumni and friends in assembling and delivering 100 care packages for Miracle Babies. Miracle Babies is a nonprofit organization that supports families with their sick newborns in the NICU through financial assistance and supportive services and to reduce pregnancy complications though prevention, education, and research.
The care packages will be delivered to hospital NICUs (neonatal intensive care units) throughout San Diego County to provide parents comfort during their babies’ hospitalization. Care packages include a swaddle blanket, a signature Miracle Babies onesie, water bottle, journal, crossword puzzle, chapstick, gum, and other donated toiletry items. We will assemble the care packages on April 13 and then deliver them the following week to the various NICUs. Thus, we need volunteers for both the assembly and delivery.
At least 15-20 volunteers are needed! Additionally, Miracle Babies will accept any bulk donated items for the care packages that are being assembled such as 50 – 100 travel size shampoos, soaps, toothbrushes, etc. Thus, if anyone who cannot donate their time would like to donate items for the care packages that we are assembling, that would be appreciated as well.
