Being a Bulldog means giving back and this spring UGA alumni chapters across the country will come together for a “Dawg Day of Service” in their local communities.
The Albina Cooperative Garden is the largest urban farm in the inner Portland area. Join us to learn about organic gardening, composting, pollinator habitat, and pruning while giving back to the local community. Volunteers will be doing a variety of activities, all of which are needed to grow organic food in a farm setting. Typically these will include: weeding, spreading compost/woodchips, composting, digging, planting, watering, transplanting, harvesting and pruning.
Volunteers should plan to bring (or wear) outdoor/gardening gear per the weather, a water bottle and gloves. Tools will be provided on site.
Please email Audrey Marrache, chapter president, at audreykarnold@gmail.com, to let her know you are planning on participating!
