Being a Bulldog means giving back and this spring UGA alumni chapters across the country will come together for a “Dawg Day of Service” in their local communities.
This year, the Jacksonville chapter will be working with Feeding Northeast Florida. Feeding Northeast Florida helps local children and families, seniors and active and retired military members who struggle food insecurity. Working with local grocery stores, manufacturers, and farms we rescue high-quality food that would normally be wasted and transform it into meals for those in need.
During our shift, we will be helping to ensure high-quality, safe food is being distributed to clients by working with teams to inspect, categorize and package food items. We will also be sorting donations of shelf-stable items, bagging fresh produce, and repacking frozen items.
Registration for this event is required and space is limited. Please follow the link included to register with Feeding Northeast Florida.
Please note Closed-toe shoes are required for participation. The warehouse does not have air conditioning or heat so please plan to dress according to the weather.
