Nominate someone to be a FACS 100 Centennial Honoree!
In 2018, we will celebrate our 100th birthday.
In February 1918, the Division of Home Economics – later to become the College of Family and Consumer Sciences – was established as part of the University of Georgia College of Agriculture.
From the beginning, we were shaped by trailblazers and visionaries, folks who through their scholarship, teaching and research displayed an unbending commitment to advancing the principles of domestic science.
As part of our centennial celebration in 2018, we will honor 100 individuals who brought strength, conviction and commitment to the ideals of the profession and through vision and hard work shaped our programs, advancing our ability to serve students and enrich lives through research at UGA.
This is where we need your help. Who do you think are some of the most influential people who helped shaped the College of Family and Consumer Sciences?
Was there a faculty member who motivated you to pursue your dreams? A staff member who always believed in you and pushed you to excel?
These individuals can be alumni, past or present faculty or staff members, friends, donors, or anyone you think is deserving of such an incredible honor.
Deserving individuals may be honored posthumously, and you can nominate as many people as you’d like.
All honorees will be celebrated at the FACS 100 Gala: A Centennial Celebration, on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Classic Center in Athens.
Please note: the deadline for nominations is November 5, 2017.
Selections will be made by a committee that will include FACS faculty, college leadership, staff, alumni and students.
