Dear UGA Alumni Family,
I am thrilled about the upcoming year! Shayla has done an extraordinary job as president, consistently demonstrating her unwavering dedication to our UGA alumni family.
I am deeply honored to serve as the president for the Black Alumni Leadership Council. We are excited to welcome seven new members to the council:
- Tomelia “Meila” Barnes (BS ’16)
- Cassaundra Govan (BBA ’01, PHD ’12)
- Roderick Langston (EDD ’22)
- Geoffrey Loften (AB ’15, AB ’15)
- Alia C. Martinez (BBA ’10, MBA ’17)
- Kydae Scott (BS ’23)
- Clarisa Thompson (MED ’10).
We are eager to see these outstanding alumni help advance our five-part mission: recruit, retain, engage, donate and serve.
If you haven’t already, please consider donating to the Black Alumni Scholarship Fund. The scholarship recipients frequently express how vital this support has been to their college experience.
Our goal for the upcoming year is to significantly exceed our $1 million goal! We will continue to enhance our homecoming experience, so get ready for an unforgettable time. The Black Alumni Leadership Council will also keep collaborating with our campus partners to connect our alumni with students seeking mentorship.
I am excited to see what we will achieve in the coming year!
Go Dawgs!
Rodd Cargill (BBA ’10)
