Masato helps develop and scale sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) programs that support the decarbonization of air travel. After graduating from the University of Georgia with degrees in Management Information Systems and the Sustainability Certificate program, he earned a Master of Science in Sustainability Management from the University of Toronto and joined Delta Air Lines, where he played a key role in expanding and strengthening the airline’s SAF program. His work helped elevate Delta’s position in the rapidly evolving sustainable aviation market through innovative program development, stakeholder engagement, and enhanced support for Scope 3 emissions reduction initiatives. Today, as a sustainable aviation fuel manager at Chooose, a Norwegian climate technology company, Masato helps airlines, fuel producers and other industry partners implement solutions that accelerate emissions reduction across the aviation sector. He continues to give back through advisory board service, student mentorship, guest lectures, and efforts to help prepare future sustainability professionals for meaningful careers in a changing global economy.
