Biography
A third-generation Bulldog, Ward has dedicated his career to strengthening Georgia agriculture through business leadership, mentorship and service. After earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agricultural economics from the University of Georgia, he built a career spanning agribusiness, food distribution and agricultural supply chains before founding Solid Ground Services and Supply.
Today, he serves agricultural, forestry and landscape businesses across the state while remaining actively involved in production agriculture through cattle and nursery operations. As incoming chairman of the Georgia Green Industry Association, he advocates for growers and agricultural businesses while supporting the long-term success of Georgia’s agricultural economy.
Committed to developing future industry leaders, he mentors UGA students and regularly connects undergraduate and graduate students with professional opportunities through industry events and legislative programs. He also serves in leadership roles with local agricultural organizations and his community. He credits UGA’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences with providing the education, relationships and foundation that continue to shape both his career and service to Georgia agriculture.
