Biography
For more than 15 years, Darren has worked to help families navigate and benefit from the financial system. A graduate of UGA’s Family Financial Planning program, he began building solutions that expand financial access for low-income households and immigrant communities through his work with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
His career has included leadership roles with United Way, Catalyst Miami and Change Machine, where he helped scale financial empowerment programs serving tens of thousands of individuals and families. In 2025, Darren co-founded Vesta Prosperity, a social impact fintech company focused on helping immigrants and low-income households access financial tools that support long-term stability and wealth-building.
A dedicated Bulldog, he founded the UGA Miami Alumni Chapter and helped grow it into a thriving community. He currently serves as board chair of Grow Brooklyn and remains active in free tax preparation efforts. Through entrepreneurship, service and advocacy, he continues working to make financial opportunity more accessible for all.
