Biography
Four degrees from the University of Georgia prepared Braden to build a career that bridges design, business and law. As the chief operating officer and general counsel of Stephen W. Hackney Landscape Architecture, Braden helps guide one of the nation’s leading landscape architecture firms through strategic growth while supporting award-winning design work across the country.
His interdisciplinary background allows him to navigate the complexities of professional practice, balancing creative vision with operational leadership, risk management and long-term strategy. Since joining the firm in 2020, he has helped lead a period of substantial growth, expanding both the firm’s reach and organizational capacity.
A dedicated supporter of the UGA College of Environment and Design, he serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council, mentors students and regularly participates in portfolio reviews, career preparation programs and studio critiques. Through board service, teaching and professional leadership, he remains committed to strengthening the profession and helping prepare the next generation of landscape architects to succeed.
