Biography
With his appointment in October, Blake became the youngest serving vice president in UGA history. As vice president for government relations, he leads the university’s advocacy efforts at the local, state and federal levels, helping advance strategic priorities that strengthen UGA’s impact across Georgia and beyond.
A graduate of UGA’s School of Public and International Affairs, Blake built a distinguished career in public policy and government affairs, serving in the offices of Georgia’s lieutenant governor and governor, representing agricultural interests at Georgia Farm Bureau and working for a U.S. senator before returning to his alma mater. Since joining UGA, he has played a key role in securing more than $250 million in public funding to support transformative initiatives, including new facilities, academic investments and the future School of Medicine.
A proud Bulldog, Blake remains deeply engaged with the university through service and mentorship. He serves on the SPIA Alumni Board, advises the Society of Government Relations and mentors students through the UGA Mentor Program. He credits UGA faculty and his own mentors with helping launch a career dedicated to advancing opportunities for students, the university and the state of Georgia.
