Being a Bulldog means giving back and this spring UGA alumni chapters across the country will come together for a “Dawg Day of Service” in their local communities.
DC Dawgs is partnering with the Potomac Conservancy and Rhode Island Avenue Main Street (RIAMS) this year for Dawg Day of Service on Saturday, April 13th. Interested alumni may choose to lend a hand at one of the following events:
1) Potomac river cleanup and optional 5K on Theodore Roosevelt Island. Volunteers will join other community members and help clean up the ecosystem around the island. If you’re a runner, there will be an optional 5K before hand to run/walk. The 5K starts at 8:45 and clean up runs from 10 AM – 1 PM. If you choose to participate in solely the clean up, participants may join us at 10:00. Register Here
2) Rhode Island Avenue Main Street’s PorchFest, an annual spring music festival where local porches are transformed for a street concert fest. Volunteers will assist in set up, facilitation, and take down of the event. This event runs from 2-6 PM but volunteers will participate in shifts throughout of their time selection. Register Here
